How can I place an order for your personalized chocolate?

You can place an order for personalized chocolate either directly from this site by visiting the Order Online page, or email us your requirements at sales@chocsawayonline.com.

Where does your personalized chocolate come from?

Our personalized chocolate is made in British Columbia, Canada from traditional recipes made to the highest of standards and quality. Our Fine Belgian fresh cream truffles are made on Vancouver Island, and our custom gift sets are named after surrounding Islands.

How long does it take to prepare an order of custom chocolates?

A typical order takes two weeks plus shipping time, although if it is an urgent order, we will do our best to meet your specific schedule.  Design proofing is the most variable part of the process in terms of time - this usually takes no more than 1 to 3 days depending on design complexity and assuming you respond promptly to our design drafts sent via email.

Once the design is approved, it takes 2 days to produce your personalized chocolate and from 3 to 10 business days to receive your personalized chocolate, depending upon the shipping option selected. Total time is normally 6 to 12 business days. 

Can you do other foil colors beside gold?

We can provide our standard size 2 oz (54g) personalized chocolate bars in a variety of foil colors including silver, green, blue, and red. Please contact us for further details. There is no difference in price for color options; gold is standard. For all other bar sizes, gold foil is the only option at present.

How long is your personalized chocolate good for? Personalized Chocolates and Chocolate Wrappers

If stored correctly, our personalized chocolate will be fine for up to 12 months following delivery.

How should I store my personalized chocolate?

Please note that Choc's Away! takes no responsibility for improper storage. Please read the storage information below. Proper storage accommodations until the time of your event will ensure maximum pleasure.

Storage and enjoyment takes place best between the temperatures of 65 degrees to 72 degree Fahrenheit (18 degrees to 22 degrees Celsius). Air-conditioned environments are fine.

To keep Belgian chocolate in its optimum condition, it is necessary to keep it away from light, moisture and foreign odours in a room with a maximum relative humidity of 65%.

If you have a cool room available, it is not necessary to keep the chocolate in a refrigerator. However, if you feel the need to store chocolate in a refrigerator, it MUST be in an airtight container that is also wrapped to prevent ANY MOISTURE from accumulating. Always bring the chocolate back to room temperature before opening the package. (Climatize your chocolate.)

Personalized Chocolates and Chocolate Wrappers

Upon delivery of your chocolate:

1. Open carton -- remove cold packs if shipment is made between April 1st and October 31st.

2. Let chocolate climatize for 1 to 2 hours in the carton.

3. Enjoy!

Hot Chocolate!

If the serving environment is 73 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees Celsius) or over, the chocolate may be stored in a refrigerator, although chocolate purists would prefer you not do so! If you are worried about your chocolate and would rather have it in the refrigerator, chocolate does not like moisture and will absorb odours, so place it in an air tight container, unless you like chocolate with a hint of Pepperoni Pizza!

Slowly re-climatize the chocolate back to the environmental temperature it will be served at.

Slowing down re-climatization can be assisted by:

-- Raising the temperature of the refrigerator from 39 degrees Fahrenheit to 50 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees to 10 degrees Celsius) for a few hours.

-- At the same time cool the room temperature to as close to 65 degrees Fahrenheit (18 degrees Celsius) as possible.

-- Move chocolate to a "cool" room. Be sure to reset the refrigerator back to original settings.

-- Climatize chocolate in the "cool" room for 1 to 2 hours. Raise room temperature to 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 72 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees to 22 degrees Celsius). Climatize 1 to 2 hours. Enjoy!

Notes to remember about climatizing chocolate:

-- Avoid fluctuating temperatures (shocking the chocolate).

-- Sudden climate changes cause the chocolate to condensate, soften, loose its gloss, or bloom.

-- Note that chocolate is very sensitive to strong odours.

-- Keep chocolate away from light and air by keeping it wrapped, without cold pack until event time.

-- Protect chocolate against humidity by keeping it off the floor and away from walls.

What if I would like to order a variety of chocolate gifts with a common design?

If you wish to order a combination of different size chocolate bars and/or truffle gift sets, which share a common, design then you will only be charged for the one design. We will modify the design to fit the various size wrappers. On the Banquet and Miniature bars some images or text may have to be edited or omitted so the design is not overloaded.

We will of course proof ALL designs with you before printing.

What if I want some more of the same chocolates at a later date ~ will I have to pay the design fee again?

No way ~ repeat designs are free. So if you come back for more of the same design there will be no charge. Minor changes to a design will incur a $10 design modification fee.
